Brownwood Teen, Titus, Brings School Spirit to the Lions

News

BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB) – The Brownwood Lions hit the field tonight, and the school will have a good luck charm.

The school spirit on homecoming is a given. The band, the pep rallys, and loud cheerleaders are all things that every school has during the homecoming celebrations, but not every school has Titus.

Titus Holmes, a 15-year-old who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth, gives Brownwood High School a little something extra at his homecoming pep rally.

“I am Brownwood Lions! Win, not lose, I’m mascot,” says Titus.

He doesn’t let his diagnosis stop him from being a driving force for the Lions.

He gave the football players a personal speech telling them to win, not lose. Simple words that mean so much coming from such a gentle heart.

Titus walks the halls at Brownwood High School with his head held high because he knows he is a part of what makes Brownwood High School built tough.

“Hey Brownwood, we win, not loose. Not give up.”
