Driver Killed in Fiery Jones Co. Crash Identified

JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The identity of the young man killed after a fiery crash in Jones County Thursday afternoon has been released.

Levi Edward Miller, 24, of Hawley, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on FM 707  east of Hawley near CR 1812 around 1:30 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The DPS crash report says Miller was traveling south down FM 707 when he slammed into an eighteen-wheeler traveling north in the opposite lane. His vehicle caught fire upon impact.

The other driver involved was not injured during the incident. DPS claims both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
