Today, Eastland County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth Maltby was laid to rest after he died in the line of duty on Wednesday after a fatal traffic accident.
He was given the full 21 gun salute.
“It’s going to be difficult, to be without Ken,” said Deputy Ben Yarbrough, who was Maltby’s partner. “I loved the man, he was my brother.”
He was killed when his Tahoe collided head-on with another vehicle that had swerved into this lane.
“He’s just a guy that can never be replaced,” added Sheriff Wayne Bradford.
He was on the job, serving the Eastland Community like he had for two years and serving as a peace officer for more than 40.
“The knowledge, the compassion. He was a wonderful great guy and we’re going to miss him terribly,” stated Sheriff Bradford.
