Crews responded to the 700 block of North Avenue A, and mutual aid was paged from the surrounding areas. Nearby resident Connie Cholewinski shared that the crews worked fast to make an attack on the fire, ensuring residents’ safety.
“The fire department and local LEOs were amazing in getting it handled. Texas Forestry, Rising Star, Cross Plains. Just amazing. It’s scary when it’s so close to home. And the city reacted quickly… Just an all-around wonderful community,” Cholewinski shared.
The fire caused a gas line to rupture, causing the city to shut down the gas for a short period of time. BigCountryHomepage will update if more information becomes available.
