Identities of Two Killed in Plane Crash Released

(ABILENE, TX) – The identities of two men who were killed during a plane crash near Abilene on Tuesday have been released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says James Estol Hathcock, 63, and Aaron T. Taylor, 33, both of Eureka Spring, Arkansas, were pronounced dead at the scene of a small passenger plane crash at the Elmdale Airpark. 

Preliminary reports indicate the plane exploded on impact after crashing during takeoff, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA, DPS, and National Transportation Safety Board are taking part in the investigation. BigCountryHomepage will have more information as it becomes available.
