The 2023 Western Heritage Classic will take place Thursday through Sunday, showcasing cowboy heritage through the World’s Largest Bit & Spur Show, a Chuckwagon Cookoff, Matched Horse Races and much more. Click the link for the schedule of events and details.
Friday, May 12:
Master Gardeners Series: Rainwater Collection:
From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., join the Big Country Master Gardeners and the Abilene Public Library to learn about rainwater collection at the main library.
Saturday, May 13:
From 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., stop by Front Porch Coffee for tea treats and a performance from ‘The Four Seasons’ ballet.
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., drop by The Parlor for princess makeup, hair tinsel, a tiara and more.
From 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., stop by The Grace Museum to learn how to strategize and sustain a career as a fine art or commercial photographer, taught by Susan Kae Grant and Mary Virginia Swanson.
From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., visit the Abilene Convention Center for wrestling, featuring Rampage Wrestling and One Guy from Italy. Tickets are $20 for front row seating and $10 for general admission.
Sunday, May 14:
Mother’s Day Pick Your Project Workshop:
From 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., visit Board & Brush to pick out a mother’s day DIY wood sign.
