BRECKENRIDGE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Drivers in Stephens County near Breckenridge are upset because of an ongoing highway traffic problem near Hubbard Creek Lake.
A portion of U.S. Highway 180 that sank just west of Breckenridge is causing quite the commotion.
The amount of time that it's taking to get the road repaired, along with a six-mile detour around the sinkhole has made drivers in the region unhappy.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) says that the galvanized metal pipes under the road collapsed, causing a huge dip that has made the road unsafe.
TXDOT is making repairs, and hopes to have the road open again in a couple of weeks.
