BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Brownwood Police Department and Sheriff's Office have a new armored vehicle.
The Mansfield Police Department donated its armored vehicle to both departments to use to respond to scenes, high-water rescues, and even in parades and other events.
The vehicle does need a bit of work, however, from lighting to paint and interior work, so the departments are selling t-shirts to help fund the repairs.
"So it will be an all-hazards vehicle, but it's just something we don't have. The nearest asset we had in this cod, our 19 area was Abilene is the only one with an armored vehicle, so I think it's key that we have one of these tools down in our area," says Brownwood Police Chief Terry Nichols.
