BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB) – After years of watching others on stage, a Brownwood woman is proving it’s never too late.

“It’s always been a dream of mine,” said Cayla Furry.

After a recent production, her sisters gave her the push she needed.

“My sisters were giving me a hard time saying ‘Cayla, you would be good at this,'” said Cayla. “You’re very drama-like all the time, you have been your whole life. You’d be good at this, you need to try out so that’s what I did.”

Cayla ended up landing a role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

“I’ll tell my age here, I’m in my later 50s and yeah, this is just something I can’t believe that I really feel like I’m living a little dream here,” Cayla said.

Even though it’s not a leading role, Cayla said it’s the role of a lifetime for her.

“I’m addicted to it I mean this has just been too much fun,” Cayla said. “It has taken me out of my box because it’s put me out in the community and it’s put me in front of people ans I would just say do it. Do something different in your life don’t just sit around like a stick in a rut do something different and to me this is way different.”
