ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A free self-defense is taking place in Abilene Thursday night.
The Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library is hosting the class, instructed by the Abilene Martial Arts Center and Kuk Sool Won.
During the class, participants will learn "ways they can be proactive about protecting themselves from attacks and how to defend themselves if they are attacked and what to do afterward. They will learn how to be aware in different situations and practice ways to fight back against an attacker," according to the City of Abilene's website.
The class is scheduled to take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the activity room at 1326 N Mockingbird Lane.
Thursday morning, Abilene police released a description of a suspect accused of attacking and attempting to rape at least 4 women over the span of several hours. Multiple attacks were stopped by the victims defending themselves.
The suspect is still at large.
