ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Low-income residents now qualify for free dental care in Abilene. 

Through a Community Development Block Grant, the Abilene Taylor County Public Health District is able to provide a variety of dental services for no cost to income qualifying applicants as part of ‘The Dental Program’. 

The Dental Program offers the following services:

  • Oral Examinations
  • X-Rays
  • Prophylaxis (Cleaning)
  • Scaling and Root Planing
  • Fluoride Treatments
  • Dental Sealants
  • Fillings – Amalgam and Composite
  • Uncomplicated Extractions
  • Pulpotomy
  • Crowns and Bridges
  • Dentures and Partials

Residents who qualify based on their median household income ($21,900 for a single person, $31,250 for a family of four. $41,250 for a family of eight) will pay nothing and all other residents will pay $150 or more per visit, depending on the procedures needed. Some forms of insurance are accepted.

The Abilene Taylor County Public Health District is located at 850 N. 6th Street. They are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
