EASTLAND, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A man was arrested Wednesday morning after leading several law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase.
According to the Gorman Police Department (GPD), an officer made a traffic stop Wednesday morning that turned into a chase on Highway 6 toward Eastland.
Additional units assisted in the pursuit, including Texas Highway Patrol, the Eastland County Sheriff's Office, and the Eastland Police Department.
Police say the driver reached 96 miles per hour while approaching Eastland.
Highway Patrol used stop sticks that deflated the front tires and slowed the vehicle, but the driver continued on Highway 6 to Seaman Street in Eastland, according to police.
The vehicle came to a stop in front of the Eastland County Sheriff's Office in the 200 block of W. White Street where the driver, William Jay, was taken into custody.
