CALLAHAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Two people killed in an explosive Callahan County crash have been identified.

Melba Tankersley Graham, 67, and Jimmy Clayton Graham, 82, both of Albany, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on SH 36 south of Baird around 6:00 p.m.

The Grahams were traveling north on the roadway when they failed to yield at a stop sign, getting slammed by an 18-wheeler when they drove into the intersection, according to the Texas Department of Public Safey.

DPS Troopers at the scene told KTAB and KRBC the impact caused the 18-wheeler’s gas tank to explode, killing the Grahams and throwing the driver from his rig. He sustained minor injuries during the crash.

The exact cause of this crash is still under investigation. BigCountryHomepage will update this article if additional information is released.
