15-year-old dies in Lubbock car crash

LUBBOCK, Texas – A 15-year-old has died after a car accident in Lubbock Thursday night.

According to a news release from the Lubbock Police Department, officers responded to the 3100 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, where a rollover accident had occurred.

Police say the car was going eastbound on the Marsha Sharp Freeway when the driver lost control and went into the grassy median between the freeway and access road.

The car rolled and ejected 30-year-old Tommy Cisneros and 15-year-old Juan Soto before coming to rest in the median, according to the news release.

Both were taken to the hospital, where Soto was later pronounced deceased.

Cisneros remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
