19-year-old woman killed, 2 others injured in Comanche Co. crash

COMANCHE COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A 19-year-old woman has died and two others are injured after a car accident in Comanche County early Thursday morning.

According to a preliminary crash report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the accident occurred on US-67 just east of Proctor just before 5:14 a.m. Thursday.

DPS says 19-year-old Carla Teresita Ontiveros-Lara, of Comanche, was driving a 2013 Ford Fiesta eastbound on US-67 when her vehicle veered into the westbound lane and struck a 2008 Ford F-350.

Ontiveros-Lara was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The driver of the pickup, 39-year-old Humberto Garcia, of Stephenville, was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth in critical condition.

The passenger, 41-year-old Hipolito Maya Gonzales, of Stephenville, was taken to Comanche County Medical Center in Comanche in serious condition, the report states.

All parties involved were wearing seatbelts.

DPS says the crash is still under investigation.
