2 Abilene toddlers test positive for multiple drugs, mother indicted

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene mother has been indicted after her two young children tested positive for multiple drugs. 

Kaylyn Smith, 21, was indicted on an Endangering a Child Thursday in connection to an investigation that began in January of 2017. She’s being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $15,000 bond. 

Court documents state Child Protective Services contacted police after Smith and her two children tested positive for the narcotics. 

One child tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine, the other tested positive for cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana, and Smith tested positive for marijuana and cocaine, according to the documents. 

The children were between the ages of 1-and-3-years-old when the drug tests were administered.
