ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Crews from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will pre-treat roadways in the Abilene district Friday morning in anticipation of winter weather, according to a TxDOT press release.
Winter precipitation will be likely on Monday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 13, prompting crews to prepare for road conditions to worsen.
Crews across the 13-county district will treat Tier one and two roadways, which includes high-traffic corridors such as Interstate-20, U.S Highway 84 from Roscoe to the Garza County line, U.S.83/84 and others, according to the release.
During winter-precipitation, motorists are encouraged to use caution when driving over bridges and overpasses, as well as reducing speed. Drivers are also asked to stay up to date with weather conditions before starting a commute.
