ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene Independent School District (ISD) voted Tuesday evening to add a bond of over $138 million to the November election ballot.

A majority of the funds would go toward plans proposed by the planning committee, including replacing three aging elementary schools. $35 million would go toward building a career and technology education center (CTE).

Board member Sammy Garcia was the lone vote against the bond, saying he disagreed with voters footing the bill for the CTE center.
