ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – It’s been a little over a year since work really started back up again at Lincoln Middle School and Abilene Public Library staff are continuing their plans to potentially turn in into a new facility.
Abilene Public Library staff met with architects Tuesday morning to discuss potential changes should they be awarded a new facility. Among the things discussed at the meeting include; additional study and storage spaces and updated technology.
Staff also focused on changes to the children and teen areas of the library, hoping to make the entire space welcoming to others.
“This is not the Library’s Library,” said Janis Test from the Abilene Public Library. “Whatever goes in that space, whatever is finally decided this is Abilene’s library. We want it to be useful and continuously a great space for our community for years to come.”
Test says no plans are concrete yet and the two entities will further discuss those in the future.
