The girl confided in a trusted adult and the documents state the adult told detectives what she said, claiming the girl called Mills her boyfriend and was able to describe their sexual relationship.

The documents state she also told the adult Mills was able to get into her room by cutting the screen on her window.

Ben Richey Boys Ranch President Kerry Fortune told KTAB and KRBC all their kids are safe and that they take every precaution to ensure the campus remains a safe place.

“Ben Richey Boys Ranch has been taking care of kids for a long time,” Fortune said. “I’ve been here 22 years and this is the first time we’ve had this type of an incident. We have precautions in place to help protect our kids, and if an instance arises where we need to add additional support then we do that”

He says that although they cannot catch every criminal act that occurs on their campus as it happens, but as soon as they receive information something is going on, staff members investigate to the fullest extent and change protocols if need-be.
