Abilene police arrest four in fatal shooting investigation

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene Police Department (APD) has arrested four individuals charged with murder, according to APD. 

Abilene police identified those arrested as:

  • Chassidy Pimpton, 21
  • Xavier Applin, 17
  • Jonathon Williams, 17
  • One unidentified minor

Abilene police confirmed that the arrests were in relation to the murder of 23-year-old Chance Bonni, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

Bonni and another man were in an apartment on Fairmont Street Saturday when a knock was heard at the door, according to APD. When Bonni answered the door, and was shot after the door was closed.

Bonni was shot in the upper torso, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. 

Preliminary investigation revealed the suspects were possibly wearing hoodies. Police said they strongly believed drugs and drug trafficking played a role in the murder.

APD could not make any further comment on the murder investigation.
