ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene Police Department (APD) have arrested a man charged with possession of child pornography after a cyber crimes investigation, according to an APD press release.

Charles Hodgkinson, 47, was arrested at his home in the 800 block of Victoria Street Friday, according to the release.

Detectives with the Fraud and Cyber Crimes Units of the APD identified Hodgkinson as a suspect through investigation, and a search warrant was later executed at his home. Several pieces of equipment were seized by Abilene police, including hard disk drives which contained numerous pictures of children performing sex acts, according to the release.

Hodgkinson also has a pending federal charge for possession of a homemade baffling device commonly known as a ‘silencer’, according to APD. The charge will be handled on the federal level.

Hodgkinson was taken to the Taylor County Jail after his arrest, and was placed on an unknown bond amount.
