BROWN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Brown County man who threatened to kill his girlfriend and police was arrested Wednesday with assistance from the Abilene Police Department SWAT team and the Texas Rangers.
Lucus Lanier, 37, was taken into custody at his home on the 6700 block of CR 411 the morning after he pulled a handgun on his girlfriend at her home in Early when she tried to end the relationship, according to a press release from the Early Police Department.
The press release states that after he drove away, "Lanier continuously sent text messages to the victim that he was going to kill her and that if law enforcement came out to his home he would shoot them."
He was taken into custody without incident around 9:00 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Assault Family Violence. Firearms, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were seized from his home during the search warrant execution.
The Early Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Brownwood Police Department, Abilene Police Department SWAT, Texas Rangers, Lifeguard EMS and Air-Evac EMS and Lake Bridge Fire Department all contributed to Lanier's successful arrest.
He remains in the Brown County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
