ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene woman has been indicted on a charge of injury to a child Wednesday, according to court documents.
Erika Chaney, 28, stood accused of causing bodily injury to a then 13-year-old girl, according to documents.
Chaney was arrested on March 29, 2017 after an Abilene police officer responded to a disturbance call at a local residence. The officer made contact with the girl, who had visible cuts and bruises on her body, according to documents.
The girl stated in a forensic interview that Chaney had slapped her across the face, grabbed her arm and scratched her with her fingernails.
Chaney was held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totalling $27,500.
