Albany features stores with potential Christmas gift options

ALBANY, Texas (KRBC) - The stress of holiday shopping can be limited by unique gift options presented in Albany stores.

"Right now we have a small mug that has a candle made in it and we have a mug for your coffee or hot cocoa," said Tori Boyett, owner of the Rustic Candle Company, where she crafts her own candles. "There's special meaning behind it when I make it so I want it to be special to them too."

The Town Store offers gourmet food and wine goods, as well as a selection of paper goods.

"I carry cheeses, Texas olive oil, the cheeses are from Texas," said Claudia Ryan, owner of The Town Store. "It's something very unique and different for the small town brand."

With the local winery, Blue Duck, The Town Store offers products to assist with the tasting experience.

"I offer a lot of wine-related things, from openers to glasses to funny wine-purses," said Ryan.

Fleur de Lee, a flower shop in Albany, offers flower arrangements as well as Caldrea products imported from Wisconsin.

"It's just got a smell that's pleasing it's not overwhelming, and it's therapeutic," said Sara Lee, owner of Fleur de Lee.

Blanton Caldwell gives shoppers the opportunity to purchase men and women's clothing, as well as kitchen supplies, in their store.

"In the men's store, we carry Filson, in the ladies store we have Johnny Was," said Laura Dickerson, a Blanton Caldwell employee.
