ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – All B1-B Lancer aircraft remain grounded after concerns over the ejection seats in the bombers has grown due to two recent in-flight emergencies.
Global Strike Command ordered all B1-Bs around the world to be grounded until the ejection systems in each aircraft could be checked.
Much of the diagnostic work is being done at an air base in Oklahoma.
It was the emergency landings of two B1 Lancers based out of Dyess Air Force Base that led to the decision to ground all of the aircraft.
