ABILENE, TX (KTAB) – The Abilene Better Business Bureau is warning the public about counterfeit product scams.
10 people in the Big Country have reported counterfeit product scams in the last three years to the BBB’s Scam Tracker site – about half of those being reported between last summer and now.
“The best way to prevent this is to know the business you’re doing business,” John Riggins, Abilene BBB president and CEO.
Riggins also says that while social media has driven up the visibility of online scams there are some red flags that could signal a counterfeit pusher.
“Usually the tell-tale signs of this happening are poor quality websites, poor photography done with the merchandise itself,” said Riggins
