STAMFORD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Stamford has announced its swimming pool will offer free admission for all ages for the remainder of the summer, according to a city of Stamford press release.
The announcement was made Monday night at a city council meeting after an anonymous business owner made a large donation to the city, according to the release.
“It’s important that we take care of our kids in Stamford and make this an attractive community to live and work,” the donor said in the release. “It’s up to community leaders and business people to step up in their communities and make an impact.”
The city pool is located on West McHarg Street adjacent to the U.S. Highway 277 bypass, and is open Tuesday – Saturday from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Following Monday’s announcement, city mayor James Decker expressed gratitude in the donation, and what it means for the community of Stamford.
“As we work to build a better Stamford, I am thankful for our leaders who care about our community and are willing to step up like this, “Decker said in the release. “The city pool is one of our cornerstone offerings of clean, safe fun within the community. I am excited that we can make the pool even more accessible for our children and families.”
