SCURRY COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Colorado City man was electrocuted while working on a wind farm in Scurry County last week.

Cody Hubbard, 29, was electrocuted and trapped at the top of a wind turbine at a farm on CR 183 Thursday. He was doing work for Ivenergy LLC when the accident occurred, injuring one other employee, who has not been publicly identified.

Hubbard was pronounced deceased at the hospital and was laid to rest on Monday. A GoFundMe page has been established to help with the funeral costs.

Hubbard’s family released the following statement in his memory:

Cody had a passion for hunting and the outdoors. He looked for ways to help others and genuinely loved people. He was a man of strong faith in Jesus Christ and carried himself in a beautiful Christ like manner. The family has been overwhelmed by the love and support shown from friends , loved ones and the community in our time of need. There have been literally over a thousand people who have reached out comfort us in our loss. We will miss Cody beyond measure but thank God for the 29 years we were able to love him on this earth.
