ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Community Foundation of Abilene has established a disaster relief fund after Saturday’s severe storms surged through town.

Western parts of Abilene were hit hard by severe storms early Saturday morning, leaving a trail of damage throughout the area.
The Community Foundation of Abilene released the following statement regarding the relief fund:
“The Community Foundation of Abilene is deeply saddened for all of the families affected by today’s damaging storm.
To help with relief efforts, we have established the Abilene Disaster Relief Fund.
Donations to this fund will be used to assist victims of the damage from the tornado that hit Abilene today.
“We want to let people in our community be a part of helping the victims from the tornado that tore through parts of Abilene this morning. One way they can do that is by donating to the Abilene Disaster Relief Fund, knowing we’ll distribute the funds in the most effective and efficient way to the nonprofits, churches and City of Abilene to help with relief efforts.” – Katie Alford, President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Abilene”
