SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractors will begin work on a rehabilitation project to a stretch of I-20 Frontage road in Sweetwater on June 11, according to a TxDOT press release.

Construction will take place on the north I-20 frontage road between BUS 70 and East Arizona Avenue, according to the release. The project will cost $1.5 million.

Starting on June 11, the project project will require temporarily converting the section of frontage road to one-way traffic and temporary closure of exit 244 from I-20, according to the release. Upon completion of the project, the frontage road will be returned to two-way traffic and exit 244 will be re-opened.

Roads are expected to be reopened as the project is finished in November 2018.
