Early police offering citizens active shooter training

EARLY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Early Police Department is offering an active shooter training class for any citizen who wants to join.

The CRASE, or "Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event", is a 1-hour long course designed to prepare citizens, schools, businesses, and churches for the unthinkable - an armed gunman firing at random.

A social media post states the course is facilitated by ALERRT, the same company that trains America's law enforcement for active shooter situations.

The exact time, date, and place of the CRASE class has not been disclosed. Anyone who wants to participate is asked to contact Early Police Chief David Mercer at (325)646-5322.
