ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Early voting began Monday in the runoff election for the Abilene City Council.
Incumbent Kyle McAlister and challenger Cory Clements are facing off for the Place 5 seat on the council.
During the municipal election in May, McAlister received 48% of the vote and Clements came in with 41.
A third challenger, Cynthia Alvidrez, received 12% and was eliminated from the race.
The two remaining candidates are encouraging voters to get to the polls as early voting gets underway at four polling locations across the Key City.
Election day is June 15.
