ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Four members of the American Red Cross serving the Big Country will be deployed to the east coast in preparation for the arrival Hurricane Florence, according to the American Red Cross. 

In addition to the four personnel, two emergency response vehicles have been deployed to the area. The vehicles will be doing mobile feeding, handing out snacks and water after the storm has passed. 

Responses have been mobilized from 11 states, according to the American Red Cross. More than 1,500 volunteers will be deployed to the area.

Two EMS from Abilene MetroCare were also deployed to the area earlier in preparation for hurricane response.
