Fundraising efforts underway for family of Border Patrol Agent killed near Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A fund has been set up to help the family of the Border Patrol Agent killed in the line of duty near Abilene Saturday night.

The fundraiser, organized by the BPA Family Network, has a goal of $10,000 to help the family of Agent Donna Doss.

Doss was killed when she was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop just west of Abilene.

Border Patrol officials said she was assisting the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) determine a subject’s alienage when the struck.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, DPS said. No information was released as to the vehicle who hit her. 

Doss had served the agency for nearly 16 years.
