HOUSTON, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A bidding war between two gas stations in Houston let motorists drive away with a win after prices dropped below 80 cents per gallon.
KHOU reports the Johnny Quick and Texaco gas stations across the street from each other near Old Spanish Trail battled it out during the bidding war on Sunday.
The report says at the peak of the battle, Johnny Quick was offering gas for 78 cents per gallon and Texaco dropped prices down to 79 cents per gallon.
Most drivers were able to fill up for less than $11, and lines to use the pumps lasted for at least 20 minutes, according to the KHOU report.
