ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Abilene will host the Key City’s first ever mac & cheese cook-off on Thursday, October 18, inviting cooks to compete and guests to judge.

Local restaurants, caterers and food trucks will be competing to create their best version of macaroni & cheese, with winners being voted on by the attendees. People’s Choice, Kid’s Choice and Judge’s Choice award winners will be announced. The overall winner from all three categories will be named “The Big Cheese.”

All funds raised through the event will stay in Abilene and directly support local children through the BBBS program.

Those attending can expect to see KTAB’s Stacie Wirmel and KRBC’s Joni McKinnon live at the event. KTAB 4U will also broadcast from the cook-off. 

The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 North 6th Street.

Tickets will cost $25 for adults and $5 for children, and can be purchased online here. On the day of the event, ticket prices will increase to $30 for adults and $10 for children.
