KTAB, KRBC win service award for ‘Big Country Helps’ drive

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – KTAB and KRBC were recognized by the Texas Association of Broadcasters for Big Country Helps, the bottled water drive hosted for Hurricane Harvey victims last summer. 

During the annual TAB conference this week, KTAB and KRBC were awarded the Bonner McLane Public Service Award for small market television stations. 

The award was accepted by General Manager Albert Gutierrez on behalf of the stations. 

The Big Country Helps drive collected nearly 3,000 cases of water that were distributed to victims of Hurricane Harvey across the State of Texas. 

Other winners for the 2017 Bonner McLane Public Service Awards include KXAN in Austin for large market television stations, KRGV in the Rio Grande Valley for medium market television stations, Cox Media Group Houston for large radio stations, KHKX in Midland-Odessa for medium radio stations, and KEOM in Mesquite for small radio stations.
