ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will host Abilene’s first ever mac & cheese cook-off in October to raise funds for its organization, according to a BBBS press release. 

Local restaurants, caterers and food trucks will be competing to create their best version of macaroni & cheese, with winners being voted on by the attendees, according to the release. 

In addition to casting their vote, guests can also participate in the Never Cook Again raffle for a chance to win a collection of gift cards from participating vendors.

All funds raised through the event will stay in Abilene and directly support local children through the BBBS program, according to the release. 

The event will take place Thursday, October 18 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 North 6th Street.

Tickets will cost $25 for adults and $5 for children, and can be purchased online here. On the day of the event, ticket prices will increase to $30 for adults and $10 for children, according to the release.
