ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A pilot was able to walk away after an emergency landing near Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene Monday morning.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials told KTAB and KRBC air traffic control received a call from the pilot regarding engine troubles around 9:00 a.m. Officials were unable to reach him after the initial contact.
His aircraft was later located in a field near CR 311 and FM 707 in the upright position.
No injuries were reported in connection to this incident.
First responders from Dyess, Abilene, Taylor County, and the Texas Department of Public Safety all assisted in locating the plane.
