RANKIN, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A San Angelo man was killed in a crash Monday near Rankin, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers were called to the crash around 4:45 p.m. Monday on Highway 349, about 15 miles north of Rankin.

Officials say the driver of a semi-truck was headed north on Highway 349 at an unsafe speed for the road conditions when he lost control, jackknifed and collided with another semi-truck.

The driver of the first semi-truck, Christopher Castro, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the report.

Zucorey Linster, the driver of the second semi-truck, as well as a passenger, Matthew Hughes, were both taken to Rankin County Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries following the crash, officials say.
