JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A high-speed chase through Jones County ended when the suspect was ejected during a rollover crash in Stamford Wednesday night.

Cade Manuel, 28, was airlifted to Hendrick Medical Center from the scene of the crash on Hwy 6, according to Jones County Sheriff Greg Arnwine. He is currently in critical condition.

Sheriff Arnwine says a Jones County deputy stopped Manuel on CR 261 in Anson around 10:30 p.m. on the suspicion he was driving while intoxicated, but before the deputy could get Manuel out of his vehicle, he drove away and initiated a pursuit.

The chase, which Sheriff Arnwine says reached speeds of up to 90 miles an hour, went north up Hwy 6 until Manuel lost control on a curve when he got to Stamford and flipped.

Manuel will be charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest if he survives his injuries.
