ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The District Attorney’s office of Taylor County issued a response to the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) Wednesday on the matter of religious expression displayed in the county courthouse.

On August 30, the FFRF sent a letter to the courthouse claiming establishment clause violations by displaying symbols of Christianity in the building. On Wednesday, Assistant District Attorney Frank Stamey delivered a response letter to the FFRF.

In the letter, Stamey responded to grievances made by the FFRF regarding the display of crosses, a fund raiser for the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and the use of the phrase “God bless America”.
