No injuries were reported after a major train derailment in east Abilene early Tuesday morning, according to the Abilene Police Department.
The incident happened at around 4 a.m., Tuesday in the area of T&P Lane and Sandy Street. That’s near Judge Ely Boulevard and East Highway 80.
Police said the intersection would be closed for up to two days as crews worked to clean up the area. Crews were just arriving as of 5 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
