ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene district of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has named Casey McGee P.E. as its new director of construction, according to a TxDOT press release.
Starting on September 1, McGee will oversee the district’s construction program which averages over $100 million annually, and is responsible for 13 counties in the area.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Casey’s knowledge and experience move into this leadership position,” TxDOT Abilene District Engineer Carl Johnson said in the release.
McGee has been with TxDOT for 16 years, previously serving in the San Angelo and Childress districts before coming to Abilene. His most recent positions have been as the area engineer of the Abilene and San Angelo districts, according to the release.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the district’s construction efforts.” McGee said in the release. “We have an exceptionally talented team that is focused on the safety and reliability of the transportation system with in our district, and I am proud to be a part of that team.”
