ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced Tuesday their naming of Paul Norman P.E. as its engineer for the Abilene area, according to a TxDOT press release.

Norman started his career with TxDOT in 1999 as a summer hire in the Abilene area office, and was later hired full-time after he graduated from Texas Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 2000.

“Paul has been an asset to TxDOT and the Abilene District for almost 20 years,” TxDOT Abilene District Engineer Carl Johnson said in the release. “we are very happy to retain someone of his caliber with his knowledge and experience in our district.’

Norman’s new title was effective on September 1, according to the release. He will oversee construction and maintenance operations for Callahan, Jones, Shackelford and Taylor counties for the Abilene District.
