Remembering Dusty Childress at Memorial Fundraiser

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) – Bike Dusty Childress was murdered in early March, but family and friends gathered together on Sunday to remember Childress and help to raise money for his family.

The day was an emotional one for Cody Childress as he remembered his brother, but even with the unhappy circumstances, it was a good day.

Childress feeling “excited, I’m emotional, and I’m glad that we have the support of friends and family that we have.”

Childress went on to say that the day would be a very emotional one, as it also marked the birthday of Dusty’s daughter. Childress, knowing that, “It’s going to be a long day. It will be emotional, but it will be a good day.”

The benefit on Sunday is the first of many that are planned for the coming years. Friend Adrian Guerrero is glad to see the biker community coming together. “It’s really nice to see. It’s kind of a different mindset, kind of a different point of view for the motorcycle riders.”

Aaron Foster, another friend, agrees. He is thankful and happy to see the crowd that formed to remember Dusty. He says, “It’s really a blessing, showing support to the family. It’s incredible. This biker community, this is what we do.”

This year’s proceeds are being given to the Childress family to help with expenses, but in future years, the ride will be held for charity in Dusty Childress’s memory.
