Somewhere in Time, Father-Son Duo Open Unique Barber Shop in Clyde

There’s a fairly new unique business in Clyde. A father-son duo opened a barber shop called “Somewhere in Time.”

The Tate family chose to buy the old T&P Railroad House, which was built in the 1900’s, and rebuild it from the ground up.

“This was a lot of work, ” said son JJ Tate.

His dad Jaren was a former barber in Abilene but decided one day it was time to come back home and own a business in Clyde.

“When you work in Abilene you lose touch with people you grew up with,” added Jaren Tate. “Coming back home to Clyde you get a chance to see some of those familiar faces and service them.”

The entire shop is decked out in old antiques.

In the back, there’s even a salon for the ladies.

The “Somewhere in Time” barber shop is open Monday-Friday 8 to 5 and on Saturday’s 8 to noon.
