Standoff Follows High Speed Chase, Fiery Crash in North Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A major interstate in Arlington has re-opened after a standoff between police and the driver of a semi-truck who hit several vehicles then instigated a high-speed chase that ended in a fiery crash. 

KXAS reports the chase crossed multiple cities along Interstate 30, sometimes reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

The driver hit several vehicles before crashing in Arlington around 12:45 p.m., according to the KXAS report, which says this final crash, involving two vehicles, was fiery.

Armed SWAT team members were on scene negotiating with the driver. He was taken into custody as of 3:20 p.m., according to KTVT

The KXAS report also states there is a woman in the cab of the truck and her current condition is unknown.
