(KETK) – Time to strap it up against a different colored jersey.

The Dallas Cowboys have traveled up the California coast line to open their exhibition campaign Thursday at Levi’s Stadium versus the San Francisco 49ers.  It’s a game you can WATCH LIVE at 9:00 p.m. (Central Time) on KRBC.

While many of the starters won’t see much playing time, it will be interesting to see if Dak Prescott does play, as to what kind of chemistry he’s developed with his young receivers, and how they are utilized.

Speaking of receivers, this will be the first opportunity for KD Cannon to show what he can do as a member of the Cowboys pass catching corps.

Cannon has been solid throughout training camp.  He’s said that he’s began to feel more and more comfortable with the offense.  Cannon bounced around in 2017 as a rookie before signing with Dallas in late December.

He took part in all of the off-season conditioning including OTA’s and mini-camp, and now seeks a shot at making the 53-man roster.

Head Coach Jason Garrett admits that the Cowboys won’t get complicated.  And he mainly just wants to see how guys respond to game situations.

Backup QB Cooper Rush should get the bulk of the playing time, with rookies Mike White, and Dalton Sturm out of UT San Antonio likely getting some second half action.
